Two boys taking bottles!!

I promise I will try to make this post shorter than the others! There is always so much information and I want to give you every detail so you all know exactly what to pray for!

This week has been pretty low key which is good!! Boys are gaining weight and getting stronger every day!

Latest on Cannon!
Cannon now weighs 4.10!! He had a head ultrasound this weekend and things look better. He will also have his follow up eye exam this week sometime. Praying that goes well and that the ROP stays mild!! Cannon had a big day today! He got to try taking a bottle. He did great! Finished 33 of 42 mL! He will just take it once a day until he gets the hang of it. Sucking and swallowing is hard work plus remembering to breathe is such a tiresome task for preemies. He was getting pretty tired towards the end but we are so proud of him for pacing himself and not being too eager. He has been getting physical therapy twice a week. They do this with all preemies who have had neurological issues. He has been doing better each time the therapist comes! He continues to amaze us and make us so proud!

Latest on Braxton!

Braxton now weighs 4.15! He is up to 6 bottles a day and doing great! He gets pretty tired and has a hard time finishing 5 & 6 but he will get there. Has to take 8 bottles without desats or Brady's before he can go home. They did a repeat echocardiogram Monday and his PDA has gotten even smaller than the last echocardiogram from last week! Hallelujah!! So thankful! They will continue to watch it until he is discharged. He will also have his follow up eye exam this week. Please pray for that! He has quite the personality already!!

The nurses and Dr's love the boys and love all of their football gear! Thank you all for supplying our boys with the cutest stuff! They are famous already, the marketing department of the hospital asked if they could be apart of their video for the March for Babies walk! We of course said yes so they could show off their cute outfits but more importantly raise awareness for premature babies!! What an honor! Here are some pictures of the outfits. They photographer and videographer will send me the ones he took so I'll post those when I get them!

Also the boys got some snuggle time in bed yesterday!! They were so sweet loving on each other! I can't wait until they can do that all the time!

Like we have said before, we believe in the power of prayer! Look how far our strong boys have come in almost 2 months! Can't believe it, it sure has gone by so fast! Thank you all for standing by us during this time to help get us through this journey. We are by no means out of the woods but we hope and pray the hard days are behind us. We praise and give thanks for every good day and we are on our knees during the bad. Jesus is our rock and we stand firm in our trust in him!

Please keep our good friend Lindy Jones and her family in your prayers! If you followed her story then you know what's going on. Lift them up as they have bitter/sweet emotions. They lost sweet Ryan but Reese is doing well in the NICU at Hillcrest. Continue to keep them in your prayers.

We love you all and are so blessed for your prayers and friendships!

Trusting in him,
Shawn, Hali, Cannon and Braxton
